Technology meets tradition
At QUBS, we’re reimagining the way kids learn through play by integrating timeless fun with cutting-edge technology. Central to this is RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), a technology that’s reshaping how kids interact with toys and, more importantly, how they play and grow. What Exactly is RFID
RFID is a wireless communication technology, similar to how contactless payment works. Just like a credit card’s hidden tag communicates with a terminal, Qubitunes and Cody Block use RFID to connect the toy with the blocks, enabling seamless, invisible interaction.
Qubitunes and RFID
The Qubitunes play stage reads the game commands from the wooden cartridge and each block. Kids can create individual noises, change up their sounds and have fun playing the games by moving the blocks around the 4 zones of the play stage. The hidden RFID and antenna create magic.
Cody and RFID
Each City Block contains a passive RFID tag, holding specific commands like “turn left” or “stop.” Cody reads these commands using an antenna, making each interaction a real-time coding experience. This allows kids to witness the outcome of their coding-like sequences without visible buttons or electronics - just traditional wooden blocks.

Safety and Innovation
We’ve integrated RFID into QUBS toys with safety and innovation at the forefront. Our RFID technology is entirely safe for young hands, with all components thoroughly tested for reliability and safety. Parents can rest assured that Qubs toys are free of any hazardous materials, and the robust design means our products can withstand years of enthusiastic play.
Beyond safety, our innovative use of RFID enables seamless, magical interaction. No batteries are required in the blocks, and the play experience is uninterrupted by the need for screens or complex interfaces. Everything is intuitive, promoting independent exploration and learning.
The Journey of RFID in Toys
How it Began
Our journey with RFID began with a bold idea: adapting technology from sectors like retail into kid’s toys. We've worked to extend the capabilities of RFID and innovated to create a patented system that allows our toys to receive and respond to tech commands, creating a smooth, magical play experience. Quite simply, we don't believe there are any other toys like ours out there that are as smart and as simple.
The Future of RFID at QUBS
We’re excited to push the boundaries of wooden toys, with RFID leading the way. Our goal is to create more advanced, interactive experiences that blend technology, imagination, and learning in new and exciting ways.
Our Vision for RFID
We aim to create a fun and exciting new world of play for kids, parents and educators with RFID embedded in timeless, lovely wood.
